In September of 2021, I started an Instagram account, @hslot_outfits , to document all of the outfits fans wore to Harry Styles' Love On Tour. Harries are known for their eagerness to go all out for shows and I thought it was important to make sure fans were acknowledged for the hard work they put into their outfits. Below are some of my favorite looks I have seen and posted for the U.S. leg of Harry's tour.  @moodypaint @kaseydjones @soph.barton @its.gillian.bryce @itsydneyalyssa @_nataliemoody @hollandrainwater @oookellem & @shammy_shoe @dally_h @emmaacapron @mandyymorg @shannonferko @emmacantrell @reece.emeryy @carolinewilliamsofficial @thisisnotkatherine hand-painted jacket by @vanessaro.sa @oliviaa.brooks @kaceyriordan @kimmisanderson @haleykwea @benbiswas @elijah.dpr @kaitlynedgley owner of @hslottickets @caroline80rhodes

20. Wild Card

Harry Styles is not Pleased by limiting himself to the music industry Earlier in the year 2021, Harry Styles signed onto an undisclosed company that was categorized as luxury products/beauty products. Anyone who is a fan knows that Harry doesn't shy away from wearing makeup or dresses, or painting his nails. As a fan, the first thing that came to mind was 'Harry is going to release nail polish.' I like to think I know the inner workings of his mind because come to find out, I was right.  Months later, Harry was seen with a sticker on his phone case that said 'Pleasing.' Fans began to speculate that was going to be the name of his brand since there was yet a brand to exist. After the San Jose, CA show on November 11, the same night Taylor Swift dropped her version of Red, Pleasing was billboarded on all of the signs around the local venue. That night Harry Styles' Pleasing  beauty brand was released to pre-shop.  The brand consists of not only nail polish product

19. Classmate Blog Critique

Image
My classmates really gave me a run for my money this year. When deciding who's blog I would critique, I kept going back in forth between a few because they are so articulate and well rounded. The blog I ultimately chose was Morgan McDaniel's.   Her layout is different than the rest of the class, which immediately stood out to me. The layout is easy to follow and aesthetically pleasing. Her header is also really cute. I can't help, but wonder if she custom made it? All her articles are left aligned. Her blog, also, does a great job at showing her personality. From the appearance of her blog she seems organized, thoughtful, and intellectual.   As for content Morgan does a great job at conveying the stories she writes about very clearly. There isn't any misunderstandings when you read her work. Her articles do not have hyperlinks, but she makes up for it with photos and videos. The videos and photos do a great job of continuing and providing more information to the storie

18. News App Critique

Image
When deciding on an app to write this article about, I immediately googled popular news apps. After looking through a list of many unfamiliar apps, I decided to go with an app I know and go to on a daily basis to get my news, Twitter . Twitter isn't your typical news app. In April of 2016, Twitter changed from its app from 'social networking" to 'news.' A survey by Digital News Report found that half of those surveyed used social media as a news source. The survey, also, found that the most used social media app used to absorb the news was, infact, not Twitter, but Facebook.  On the App Store, Twitter has a rating of 4.6. The few one-star reviews mainly consist of people complaining about what other people tweet. This is funny because at heart this is a networking app, obviously, people are going to have their own opinions.  Twitter has a explore feature that takes you to all of the trending or relevant news of that day. There is a specialized tab called "For

Declining International Student Numbers Stabilize U.S. News In 2020, the pandemic interrupted everyone's lives from industries to economies. Travel became scarce and, sadly, for international students education was put on pause. According to statistics from Open Doors , the total amount of international students a U.S. universities dropped by 15% from 2019-2020 to 2020-2021. Within that year new international students enrolling in U.S. universities decreased by 45.6%.  In addition to economic challenges, others blame policies and political rhetoric that made international students feel unwelcome. Founder and president of Lakhani Coaching, Hafeez Lakhani, had this to say, "The Trump administration basically put out an unwelcome mat for international students." Despite the challenges international students faced this past 2 years, overall numbers are beginning to climb again. A popular college application portal, Common App , estimates prospects of international students

Galvanic Energy drilling well north of Lake Erling Magnolia Reporter A company based in Oklahoma, Galvanic Energy , has indicated an interest in the supply of lithium and bromine products from Southwest Arkansas and has received a drilling permit from the Arkansas Oil and Gas Commission.  The permit allows drilling up to 10,848 in-depth. Work began November 1. Galvanic Energy has acquired thousands of acres in Lafayette and Columbia counties. Galvanic released a statement in July saying they expect the land to provide "4 million tons of LCE (lithium) carbonate equivalent and 8.5 million tons of bromine."  The location of the well is North of Lafayette County Road 17, West of Arkansas 53, and North of Lake Earling. Quanico Oil & Gas of Eldorado, also, has received a drilling permit and will begin work today in Libson Field of Union County.  Arkansa Oil and Gas Commission Personally, I am a huge advocate for the environment. Is this 'Dune' adaptation going to be the one that sticks? After many delays spanned across the pandemic, Frank Herbert's classic novel "Dune" was finally released in theaters as the book's latest film adaptation. The movie came out on October 22nd nearly a year after the original release date. According to CNN, the film has been hyped up to be one of this year's highly anticipated releases. The film stars include Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Josh Brolin, and Oscar Isaac. It is directed by Denis Villeneuve, who is known for his work on Blade Runner 2049 (2017) and Arrival (2016). Both of which he directed. Dune (2021) The first onscreen adaption came out in 1984. Then, two decades later a TV mini-series followed. Critics and the audience alike found that the 1984 adaptation and TV mini-series were more than a little off the script from the original book. The 1984 version of the film was directed by David Lynch and faced defeat when the film brought in $3
